Sukys’ 1993 Turbo Prelude: From Junk to Seeing Only the Trunk

turbo preludefirst looked likeLooking at a more common tuner you will see rolling around the streets, Zack Sukys started his journey with a Craigs List junker, which wasn’t a turbo Prelude at first, let alone much of anything at first.  He purchased a 1993 Honda Prelude that wasn’t running, was not in very good cosmetic condition, and has been sitting for some time waiting for a new owner to come pick it up and give it the much needed attention it needed.

turbo preludeNow, when we say a junker, we mean junker.  I remember seeing this car up for sale for a couple hundred dollars.  From what I remember, it was on the south side of the city, just sitting in a driveway.  It had a blown motor when he bought it, about two to three different colors of paint on the body, and the only pretty thing was the interior and the aftermarket rims.

Once he was all done making it a turbo Prelude and rebuilding basically the entire car, he decided to drive it…  One mile down the road, the fitting connecting the oil line to the turbo broke loose.  He pulls over and sees his paint boiling on his hood!  He opens the hood and everything was up in flames!  So he calls the fire department and gets it out and ends up home, safe and sound. pic-101Fresh Paintpic-91Turbo Prelude Even though he was disappointed, like everyone would be if The Turboyou saw your baby up in flames, he managed to get all the burnt and melted stuff, but he is still trying to figure out his compression issues which resulted after all of the oil, meaning every last drip, was shot out through the oil line. turbo set upAlthough this turbo Prelude may not be running right now, this is the spirit us at TurboAddict.com likes to see.  Someone who will spend the money they can scrounge up to fix a car, that may be too far gone for any type of racing, yet he keeps at it and decides to make it a turbo Prelude!  Once this thing starts running right, all you are going to be seeing is the trunk when he lets loose of this heafty investment.
